Prague, Sept 4 (CTK) – The Czech Republic and Slovakia would create a train corridor for the relocation of the refugees from Hungary if Germany were really ready to accept all refugees from Syria, Czech and Slovak interior ministers, Milan Chovanec and Robert Kalinak, told journalists Friday.
An agreement on such steps would have to be made, the ministers said.
Chovanec pointed out statements by German politicians.
If Germany expressed the will, train corridors from Hungary across Slovakia and the Czech Republic could be created, he added.
The Czech Republic would only provide police assistance, Chovanec said.
“We would let the trains pass without checking the migrants. We would only escort them,” Chovanec said.
However, Hungary would have to guarantee that the plan would only cover the Syrians who would have been checked, he added.
Chovanec said an increasing number of the migrants were pretending to be Syrians, while the number of forged Syrian passports was increasing.
Kalinak said the idea of the train corridor was good.
He said Slovakia would only check whether the migration was flowing elsewhere. Like Chovanec, he stressed the need of an agreement between Germany and Hungary, now facing a strong migration influx.
