Prague, Oct 12 (CTK) – The Czech police detained a drug dealer transporting 2.2 kilogrammes of very pure cocaine from the Netherlands to Bohemia on Monday, Ludek Fiala, from the regional police command, told journalists yesterday.
In the subsequent 25 homes searches in Plzen, West Bohemia, and Prague, the police uncovered five marihuana labs with 1,300 plants and detained eight persons aged 27 to 59.
The street value of the seized cocaine is roughly 10 million crowns and that of the confiscated material several tens of million crowns, Fiala said.
From the seized cocaine, up to eight kilogrammes of the drug could be gained, police officer Emanuel Belbl said.
The street value is about 3,600 crowns for a gramme, Belbl said.
The seized material for the marihuana laboratories has filled about ten lorries, Fiala said.
This was the biggest anti-drug raid in the region over the past three years, deputy regional police director Rudolf Cisar said.
If convicted, the detained men can be sentenced to eight to twelve years in prison.
The police action dubbed Avarus was held with the participation of 180 regional police officers and the National Anti-Drug Centre.
