Prague, June 22 (CTK) – Tibetan Dalai Lama will come to Prague to attend the conference Forum 2000, founded by his friend, former president Vaclav Havel, 20 years ago, spokeswoman for Forum 2000 Foundation Anna Vosalikova told journalists yesterday.
Dalai Lama will deliver a lecture on October 19, Vosalikova said.
The 20th Forum 2000 will take place with the motto Courage to Assume Responsibility in Prague on October 16-19.
“Dalai Lama is a splendid example of a personality that can be a model of tolerance, a moral example for the rest while heading a nation in a difficult, almost desperate situation. He is able to understand the human and political responsibility in its broadest sense,” Forum 2000 Foundation executive director Jakub Klepal said.
Nobel Peace Prize laureate for 1989, Dalai Lama, attended the conference previously in 2013.
At Havel’s invitation, he came to Czechoslovakia for the first time on February 2, 1990.
The visit provoked criticism by China, but Dalai Lama has visited several times Prague since then.
He also met Havel briefly before his death in December 2011.
