Prague, Nov 23 (CTK) – Prague airport customs officers detained on Sunday a 32-year-old foreigner smuggling more than nine kilograms of heroin that would fetch up to 12 million crowns on the market, Sarka Miskovska, spokeswoman for the Prague Ruzyne Customs Office, told CTK yesterday.
The man arrived in Prague from Islamabad. The drug was uncovered in a routine check. An X-ray scan alerted the customs officers to organic material in his textile suitcase.
“During a physical check, two packages fixed to a plastic layer with an adhesive tape with an unknown loose brown substance were found,” Miskovska said.
Experts said the packages contained a mixture of heroin and caffein which weighed almost 9.3 kilograms including the cover.
The detained foreigner was handed to the National Drug Centre.
