Farmers market is a great place not only to buy fresh produce but also enjoy live music, original cuisine and also buy some original crafts. Here is a list of farmers’ markets that you should visit in 2023.

What you can buy at the farmers market in Prague and what is important to consider

All farmers markets in Prague offer a somewhat similar assortment of produce. First of all there are seasonal vegetables, fruits and berries, herbs, meat and meat products (smoked meat), fish, milk and dairy products (cheese, cottage cheese), eggs, honey, fresh flowers, spices, drinks (juices, beer, wine, mead), certain manufactured goods. Visitors are offered dishes of Czech and international cuisine and trendy delicacies, as well as drinks.

A good tip for visiting one of the farmer’s markets is to bring your own bags. Most of the vendors are already following ecological trends such as using paper bags and compostable coffee cups.

It is important to note that although farmers’ markets are officially open until the evening on weekdays, by lunchtime many items are sold out and vendors have gone home. Therefore, it is better to go shopping in the morning (and on Saturday early in the morning).
