Prague, Dec 6 (CTK) – ANO is still the most popular party in the Czech Republic being supported by 29 percent, while support for the Social Democrats (CSSD) has increased by 3.5 percentage points since October, shows a poll conducted by the TSN AIsa agency for public Czech Television (CT) and released yesterday.
The CSSD is supported by 19.5 percent of Czechs, according to the November poll.
The CSSD, ANO and the Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL) form a centre-left government,
Support for the opposition Communists (KSCM) has dropped by 3 percentage points since October and 9.5 percent would vote for them in November.
The opposition rightist TOP 09 would finish fourth with only 0.5 percent lower support than the third KSCM.
Six political parties and movements would cross the 5-percent parliamentary threshold. Apart from the four above mentioned ones, it would be the opposition right-wing Civic Democrats (ODS) with 8 percent and the junior government Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL)with 7 percent of the vote.
Out of extra-parlimaentary parties, the Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) and Dawn enjoy the highest support of 4 percent each.
TNS Aisa director Bronislav Kvasnicka pointed to several tendencies that polls indicated in the long run.
“A gradual decline is apparent in the case of the two strongest parties, though it is not dramatic… The fall in preferences of the KSCM is more distinctive. Other parties are rather stable,” Kvasnicka told CT.
According to the TSN AIsa election model, 70 percent of people would be willing to vote in a general election if they were held now.
