Prague, Dec 6 (CTK) – Petr Prskavec, who was recently dismissed as commander of the guards of Prague Castle, the presidential seat, has been investigated by the military police on suspicion of fraud, server Aktualne.cz has reported, citing three trustworthy sources.
Prskavec is suspected of drawing state subsidies to cover his regular shuttling between Prague and his home town elsewhere in the country without, however, really going home. He stayed in Prague instead.
The Military Police are checking the affair, their spokeswoman Lenka Haberova told CTK without elaborating.
A high-ranking source from the Prague Castle confirmed to CTK that Prskavec was sacked as the Prague Castle top commander on Friday in connection with his suspicious drawing of travel subsidies.
Jan Kase, commander of the Presidential Military Office, said he would not comment on the Prskavec case.
Prskavec took up the post on December 18, 2015.
