Prague, Aug 12 (CTK) – Finance Minister Andrej Babis’s ANO would win the election to Czech Chamber of Deputies now with 25.5 percent of the vote before the Social Democrats (CSSD) with 21 percent, according to a poll conducted by the Median polling institute in July and released Saturday.
The two parties would be followed by the Communists (KSCM) with 15 percent.
The five percent threshold to enter the lower house would also be crossed by TOP 09, the Civic Democratic Party (ODS) and the Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL)
The results have remained all but the same as in June.
Some polls have suggested that the Social Democrats are closing the gap behind ANO. The poll carried out by the CVVM even said they had already outstripped it.
TOP 09 and the ODS would only gain 8.5 percent each, the Christian Democrats only percent.
When it comes to the rest of the parties, the best results were scored by the Pirates with 3.5 percent, the Greens with 3 percent and the Free Citizens’ Party with 2.5 percent.
A mere 2 percent would be gained by the Dawn-National Coalition, which is now in the Chamber of Deputies.
Only 43 percent of Czechs are firmly set to take part in the election. The poll was conducted on a sample of 1,241 Czechs over 18 on July 4 to August 4.
