Prague, July 15 (CTK) – Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek considers the signing of an international agreement with Iran an impulse to a possible visit to Tehran on the government level, his spokeswoman Michaela Lagronova told CTK yesterday.
The deal opens new possibilities in bilateral relations, Zaoralek (senior ruling Social Democrats, CSSD) added.
The world powers agreed with Iran on Tuesday on limiting its nuclear programme in exchange for lifting the Western sanctions.
“This step opens new possibilities in bilateral relations to the Czech Republic. Consultations on the level of deputy ministers from both countries were held recently along with exchange stays of parliamentary delegations accompanied by businesspeople. The signing of this deal becomes an impulse to consider a trip to Iran on the government level,” Zaoralek said.
After the deal was signed, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and German Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel plan to visit Iran.
President Milos Zeman has welcomed the agreement with Iran, his spokesman Jiri Ovcacek said.
“[Industry and Trade] Minister Jan Mladek does not plan to go to Iran in the days to come. However, he naturally does not rule out a working visit,” Industry and Trade Ministry spokesman Frantisek Kotrba said.
Under the breakthrough deal, sanctions imposed by the United States, the European Union and the United Nations on Iran will be lifted quickly in exchange for a long-term limiting of the Iranian nuclear programme.
The main negotiations were held between the United States and Iran, but the other permanent members of the U.N. Security Council (Britain, China, France and Russia) and Germany took part in them as well.
