Prague, March 17 (CTK) – China’s President Xi Jinping will meet President Milos Zeman, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, the heads of the two houses of parliament and the Prague mayor during his visit to the Czech Republic on March 28-30, according to preliminary information of the Czech Presidential Office.
The yet unconfirmed schedule includes Xi Jinping’s participation in an economic forum and a meeting with athletes.
Zeman’s spokesman Jiri Ovcacek said previously that Xi Jinping would stay in the country for 40 hours and that he would visit Prague Castle and the Lany chateau, the presidential seats in the city and in the countryside.
Ovcacek told CTK yesterday that the details of the programme would be announced well in advance.
According to previous information, Zeman will welcome Xi Jinping in Lany, near Prague, on March 28.
On March 29, Xi Jinping and Zeman will meet journalists at Prague Castle. The Chinese President is scheduled to meet Sobotka, Chamber of Deputies chairman Jan Hamacek, Senate chairman Milan Stech and Prague Mayor Adriana Krnacova on the same day.
On March 30, Xi Jinping and Zeman plan to open a discussion forum on economic affairs in Prague’s Zofin Palace, meet athletes and visit the Strahov Monastery.
As Xi Jinping will visit the Czech Republic on his way to the United States, he is likely to be accompanied by a very strong delegation. Zeman said dozens of Chinese entrepreneurs would arrive as well.
Zeman said previously he expects China to invest 45 billion crowns in the Czech Republic. About 20 agreements are to be signed, including documents on strategic partnership and spas, he added.
