Prague, Nov 22 (CTK) – The Alternative for the Czech Republic will run together with another two extra-parliamentary parties, Patriots of the Czech Republic and Freedom and Force, in the autumn 2017 general election, the three parties have agreed in a memorandum of cooperation.
The latter two parties’ candidates will run on the Alternative’s list of candidates.
The three parties want to seek further opportunities of programme, personnel and organisational cooperation, the memorandum says.
It says the three parties share identical political principles and aims, which is why they want to coordinate their election activities.
In a statement addressed to CTK, the parties say they want to offer an election alternative to the “disappointed right-wing voters.” It will be Eurosceptic, “slightly pro-national,” economically liberal but conservative in social matters.
The Alternative for the Czech Republic was established before the October Senate elections by people close to Martin Konvicka, leader of the former Bloc Against Islam movement. Konvicka ran for the Alternative in the elections but he failed, as did the party’s other four candidates.
The failure made Petr Hampl resign as the Alternative’s chairman.
The Freedom and Force party was established in Brno earlier this year.
The Patriots of the Czech Republic was founded in early 2014.
