Tennis, beach volleyball, a climbing wall, athletics, football, swimming, as well as theatres, workshops, and concerts. This is a list of the activities that you can enjoy on 25 May 2013 from 11 o’clock in the grounds of the Czech Agricultural University in Prague 6 at the EXPATS GAMES – the first sporting and social gathering of Czechs and expats living in the Czech Republic. Because the main aim of the event is to create as much as possible a multi-cultural but also a pleasant environment, and to help foreigners become more easily involved in our society, we have decided to also extend our help to other people in need. The first annual EXPATS GAMES will therefore be supporting a collection to buy a bus with wheelchair access for students at the Jedlička Institute and Schools.

As well as trying out all the activities on offer, visitors to the EXPATS GAMES can also support the Jedlička Institute Foundation’s collection. There will be money-boxes placed at various stands in the grounds where everyone is welcome to contribute as much as they want. Also at 2.30 p.m. there will be a special 400 metre race which absolutely anyone can take part in. In this competition the taking part and not the winning will be what’s important as the CZK 50 entry fee will go towards the collection for the “I ride for the Jedlička Institute” project. All age groups will be able to “test their strength” and even prams and family pets will be welcome on the start line.

Come with us and support the Jedlička Institute Foundation, a non-profit organisation that was founded in 1990 as one of the first foundations in the Czech Republic. It supports children and young people with physical and multiple disabilities, especially pupils and students of The Jedlička Institute and Schools, which this year is celebrating its one hundredth anniversary. The “I ride for the Jedlička Institute” project, which has been running since June 2012, aims to collect as much money as possible to buy a new bus with wheelchair access.
