Prague, March 13 (CTK) – The budget deficit for next year is to reach 60 billion crowns, Czech Finance Minister Andrej Babis (ANO) told the Prima commercial television station yesterday.
Babis said he expected a large pressure on the budget by individual ministers.
He said he would like to increase the pensions by 300 crowns. The bonus will cost some 13 billion crowns.
The increase in the means to be spent on sports will cost another 1.7 billion crowns, Babis said.
Investments will be a priority, Babis said, adding that he would demand that government members present their investment proposals.
Later this week, Babis will discuss the budget with President Milos Zeman.
Last year, the budget deficit was 62.8 billion crowns, which was 37.2 billion less than in the approved budget.
