Prague, March 29 (CTK) – President Milos Zeman is trusted by 62 percent of Czechs, which is his highest popularity since his election as president in early 2013, according to a March poll released by the CVVM agency.
People’s confidence in the centre-left cabinet of Bohuslav Sobotka stands at 41 percent, which corresponds to its usual level in the past months.
Town mayors and assemblies keep the position of the most-trusted institutions, enjoying the confidence of 64 and 63 percent of people, respectively.
The least trusted are the two houses of parliament, the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. Only 30 percent of the respondents consider them trustworthy.
The regional assemblies and governors are trusted by 43 and 41 percent people, respectively, the poll showed.
Their position in this respect has remained unchanged in recent months.
People’s confidence in Zeman has markedly risen in the past year, by 15 percent against March 2015.
“The confidence in the president is currently the highest since the beginning of his term in office,” the pollsters said.
Forty-four percent of Czechs, the same share as in February, are dissatisfied with the current political situation, the poll showed.
One fifth of respondents expressed satisfaction, and one third said they felt neither satisfied nor dissatisfied.
