Prague, April 11 (CTK) – A conference on tackling global threats and a dialogue between cultures, co-organised by Prague ambassadors from countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, will be held for invited guests under the auspices of Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek in Prague on April 13-14.
The conference will take place at the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS), but no further details have been released for security reasons.
“Czech and foreign scientists have been invited to the conference – sociologists, philosophers and political scientists. The key topic is the overcoming of global conflicts and threats. For security reasons, nobody will be let in without the special invitation card,” said co-organiser Marek Hrubec, director of the Central of Global Studies, which is part of the CAS.
The conference will deal with a cultural dialogue between the European secular society and Muslim societies, with tolerance and Islam, and with tackling cultural, religious and military conflicts.
The participants will include Moroccan Ambassador to Prague Souriya Otmani, Turkish Ambassador Ahmet Necati Bigali and Faisal Bin Abdulrahman Bin Muammar, who heads the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) seated in Vienna.
Among the academic lecturers, Burhan Koroglu, from Istanbul University, will focus on the role of media in the increasing Islamophobia in the West, and Bronislav Ostansky, from the CAS, will talk about the Muslim community in the Czech Republic.
