Construction savings bank Českomoravská Stavební Spořitelna (ČMSS) extended loans totalling over CZK 20bn in the first ten months of 2015. ČMSS’ board of directors chairman Vladimír Staňura has stated that the growth may be attributed to low interest rates. The average interest rate on small loans under CZK 500,000 has been under 4% since summer 2015, while the average interest rate on consumer loans is ca. three times higher.
