The value of the mergers and acquisitions market in the Czech Republic dropped by 9% y/y to USD 7.2bn in 2015. The no. of M&A transactions dropped to 185 from 221. This stems from a sruvey by consulting comapny Ernst & Young (EY). Czech Republic ranked third in Central and Southeast Europe in the value of the market and the no. of transactions, after Turkey and Poland. There were totally 1,281 transactions worth USD 43.1bn in the region. Services were the most attractive sector in terms of the no. of transactions in the Czech Republic, while IT dominated in the region. In terms of value, the biggest M&A transactions in CR took place in production and regionally in banking and financial services.
