Manifesto Andel is keeping its winter-proof heated space and is open daily throughout winter, offering a varied program that pairs well with dinner or drinks. Following a series of film screenings and silent discos, acoustic music sets and a Brazilian evening are planned in the coming weeks. On January 30th, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, Manifesto will invite families to join a matinée full of workshops and activities themed around the Year of the Tiger. Creative activities will allow guests to learn about the most important holiday celebrated across Asia that is also near and dear to many colleagues from Manifesto’s restaurants and core team alike. They will create puppets, origami-decorated envelopes, and learn what they are traditionally used for. At the end, they can participate in a dice game and hope to win a prize.
“2022 is the Year of the Tiger that symbolizes bravery, ambition, and courage. We expect a year of changes and opportunities to come alongside the chances. The legend brings us back to thousands of years ago: 12 animals were in a race which determined their sequences in the Chinese Zodiac. Tiger is placed third after Rat and Ox, and followed by Rabbit and Dragon etc. Each animal represents a different character and defines aspirations for the year to come. The cycle restarts every 12 years,” shares Mandy Kwan, Manifesto’s expansion manager originally from Hong Kong, now living in Prague in a half-Czech couple.
“In my family, I typically assist my mom in the kitchen. We make sticky rice to create colorful meals and we shape them using molds. Compared to other nights, there are always more courses on the table with more complicated recipes. We make our homemade rice cake once or twice, other years we buy it at a local market. The celebration is different here from what it would be in Vietnam, but not less important or special. My dad takes care of peach tree blossoms, typical in northern Vietnam. We select them very carefully, just like when people pick the nicest Christmas trees,” describes Anh Nguyen from the marketing team of Manifesto.
In the last days of February, Manifesto will recall carnival traditions – the local masopust (Slavic carnival) combined with flairs of foreign carnival variations. “We cannot leave unnoticed the revival of masopust in the Czech countryside driven by the generation of people in their thirties. They succeed to attract more and more attention to colorful, allegorical processions and rituals. It is a precious cultural heritage with a huge number of iterations observed in different parts of the world. At
Manifesto, we have a great opportunity to combine local traditions with diverse foreign habits,” explains Šárka Fronček, Marketing Director.
Manifesto Andel will remain heated and covered throughout the winter. Visitors may borrow a range of card, dice, and board games, free of charge. Educational games for children are also available on request via the table service personnel. In addition to the existing seating options, visitors can enjoy comfortable glamping tents, known and popular from Manifesto Florenc.
Manifesto Florenc #Legendforever
Manifesto Florenc has interrupted its operations and a crane moved the containers to undergo renovation before being placed at the new location. Martin Barry explains: “In January, Manifesto Florenc got loaded on trucks and everything will be renovated, polished, and upgraded, to be reused this year in a new, larger, and even more interesting place. The Florenc market was never designed to host millions of people in such a short period of time, so I’m looking forward to upgrading it. I hoped we could be there for one year. Since then, we’ve stretched the investment much, much further than it was originally planned. The project was meant to be a proof-of-concept popup, and soon found its way to the pages of the The New York Times and has caught the attention of investors, developers, and visitors. We love that location, but we can’t stop the construction all around us. Manifesto Florenc will remain a legend we love. But I am forward-looking and focused on future opportunities.”
The announcement of the planned relocation triggered a wave of supportive reactions on social networks.
“I have some of the most beautiful memories of Manifesto Florenc – you will miss it.” (IG)

About Manifesto
The mission of Manifesto is to transform unused and ordinary places into unique experiences in real and virtual environments. Using modern technologies, Manifesto builds and manages innovative spaces and creates a stable and accessible gastronomic ecosystem. It thus provides independent restaurants and virtual kitchens with low entry costs and higher achievable margins. Manifesto was first opened in 2018 in Prague and so far, it has turned three neglected urban spaces into popular meeting places. A modular
design is used for its projects as the company’s priority is to minimize its impact on the environment, by connecting the locations to renewable energy from Nano Energies. Manifesto is also the first cashless zone in the Czech Republic. The brand is focused on preparing unique gastronomic and cultural experiences in temporary and permanent projects, especially while thinking about future expansion abroad.
Manifesto won the Mastercard Merchant of the Year 2018 award for best customer experience, the Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice 2020 title, given to companies in the top 10% of the ratings, and was a finalist for Hamburg’s Internorga Future Award 2021 for outstanding efforts to promote operational sustainability. Manifesto was founded by Martin Barry, a landscape architect from New York, and his non-profit urban organization reSITE with a mission to improve the urban environment and the quality of life.
