Prague, May 10 (CTK) – The police evacuated hundreds of people and made a search in over ten places in the Czech Republic, including town halls and railway stations roughly at noon yesterday, after an anonymous caller said bombs were planted there, police spokeswoman Marketa Janovska has told journalists.
The call spoke about town hall and railway station buildings in Prague, Plzen, west Bohemia, Pardubice, east Bohemia, Jicin, east Bohemia, and a school in Pardubice.
The operation of railways and also of the underground in Prague was discontinued for a time.
The caller told not only the police that the bomb had been planted there, Janovska said.
“All the buildings were searched for, but no active detonating system was found in any of them,” she added.
Hundreds of police took part in the action.
If detained, the hoax caller may be charged with spreading a false bomb threat.
Last year, the police dealt with 214 cases of a false bomb threat and cleared up 120 of them.
