Prague, Oct 10 (CTK) – Most Czechs consider the quality of schools good, they are satisfied with elementary and grammar schools the most of all, and positive assessment prevail over negative in all types of schools, according to a CVVM institute’s poll released yesterday.
Sixty-nine percent of Czechs said the quality of education was good at elementary (primary) schools and grammar (high) schools. Grammar schools received the rating “very good” from more people than elementary schools.
Two thirds (65 percent) considered universities good, 59 percent had a positive view of high professional schools and 57 percent of secondary professional schools.
Apprentice schools received the worst assessment, as 46 percent were satisfied and 38 percent dissatisfied with their quality.
Compared to the previous poll that CVVM conducted in 2015, apprentice schools and secondary professional schools received more critical comments now.
“However, only another survey can show whether this is a trend in which the public reflects a problematic situation of the secondary professional schools,” CVVM said.
A majority of Czechs (71 percent) shared the view that everybody can achieve such education that corresponds to their capabilities, while 26 percent held the opposite view.
The number of those who firmly believe that everybody can achieve appropriate education in the Czech Republic has been the highest since 2005 when this question was asked for the first time.
