A heavy snowstorm is to blame for yesterday’s two massive car crashes involving almost 100 cars on a major highway that connects Prague with the eastern part of the country and Slovakia, authorities said. Some 40 cars crashed in a series of accidents before midday yesterday 300 kilometres east of Prague, police said. Two people were injured. As well, dozens of vehicles, including a bus, were involved in another pileup 100 kilometres southeast of Prague.
