Vyskov, South Moravia, Sept 17 (CTK) – Five Polish citizens died and four suffered injuries in a collision of a lorry with a van on the D1 motorway near Rousinov, south Moravia, yesterday, the local fire squad’s spokesman Jaroslav Mikoska told CTK.
The Poles were travelling in the van that crashed into a lorry driving before it.
D1 has been closed at the scene of the accident, which occurred at 13:00. It has been probably the most tragic accident this year.
The vehicles collided at a place where the traffic on D1 is limited over motorway repairs, said Alice Musilova, spokeswoman for the Vyskov police.
The material damage is yet to be calculated.
Before, the most tragic road accident this year was the accident of a car with four young people travelling in it elsewhere in south Moravia in March. The car crashed into a concrete wall and caught fire. All four passengers died.
