Prague, Dec 20 (CTK) – Three foreigners escaped yesterday from the Czech migrant facility in Vysni Lhoty, north Moravia, and they will probably attempt to leave the country since they sought release from the centre to be able to apply for international protection in another EU country, Katerina Rendlova told CTK.
Rendlova , foreigner police spokeswoman, said none of the three men is linked to organised crime and they pose no danger.
The foreigners escaped from the centre after 23:00 CET on Saturday when the latest counting was was done.
This morning, the security agency guarding the facility reported a damaged internal fencing separating the individual blocks. The counting revealed that three people – from Afghanistan, Algeria and Libya – are missing.
The police have taken necessary measures on the Czech border.
Rendlova said a human failure in guarding of the facility may be behind the escape.
The police dealt with a similar case in the migrant facility in Bela pod Bezdezem, central Bohemia, from which 50 to 60 migrants attempted to escape in July.
The facility in Vysni Lhoty has been fully operating since early September. Its capacity is 452 beds. According to the Interior Ministry´s statistics, there were 53 foreigners in the facility as from December 20.
It was used for migrants in the past already, but in December 2009, it ceased to be used. It spreads on 75,000 square metres.
According to previous information by Miroslav Koudelny, director of the Refugee Facilities Administration, only men waiting either for administrative expulsion, relocation within the Dublin regulation, or transfer to a different country within the readmission system should be placed in Vysni Lhoty.
