Prague, May 7 (CTK) – Wiretapping devices, including a hidden camera, have been found in the rooms of the Prague economic criminal police, daily Pravo wrote Friday and public Czech Television (CT) said the police suspect a connection with the case of Jana Nagyova, now Necasova.
According to CT, the suspected detective, acting on the order by people from around Nagyova, influenced the investigation of former intelligence head Karel Randak in connection with the release of the bonuses Nagyova was paid in her capacity as former director of the office of former prime minister Petr Necas (Civic Democrats, ODS).
Randak was charged with unauthorised handling personal data, which allegedly distinctly worsened the reputation of Nagyova, who married Necas in 2013.
But courts issued a valid verdict according to which the leak of information on the unusually high bonuses from the Government Office to the media was not a crime.
Nagyova has been charged in several cases, including the abuse of the Military Intelligence (VZ) and leaking information from the BIS counter-intelligence.
She has also been charged with the failure to pay tax on the gifts which she received from influential people when working for Necas.
Pravo wrote that two mutually independent sources confirmed for it the information about the finding of wiretapping devices in the offices of Prague police.
According to the sources, the devices were planted in the offices of the team that is investigating a suspicion of a subsidy fraud connected with the construction of the Capi hnizdo (The Stork’s Nest) farm and conference centre owned by Deputy Prime Minister and ANO head Andrej Babis.
The case is also investigated by the European anti-fraud body OLAF. Babis dismisses any connection with the wiretappings.
“I do not know anything about that the police would be investigating Capi hnizdo. I do not have any information. I consider it one more strange coincidence that Friday, when we (ANO) are holding a conference, someone announces this right in the morning,” Babis told CTK.
