Prague, July 11 (CTK) – Tax distrainers seized property and cash of over one million crowns from the operators of Prague casinos within a raid this morning, Czech Financial Administration (GFR) spokeswoman Petra Petlachova has told CTK.
The operators owe tens of million crowns in taxes to the state, Petlachova said.
Now the state will put up the property in auctions, she added.
Its owners can still pay the tax arrears in order to regain the seized things, Petlachova said,
She declined to elaborate on what establishments the GFR distrainers had targeted.
“These were the operators of the casinos that work across the Czech Republic and who owe tens of million crowns to the state in taxes,” she said.
The distrainers seized not only proceeds from games, the roulette and slot machines, but also seven cars, Petlachova said.
Last August, the GFR conducted a similar raid, in which its staff seized the property and cash of roughly 41 million crowns.
