Prague, July 18 (CTK) – About 400 people met in Prague Saturday in protest against the EU, Islam and the recent immigration of refugees to Europe, and heard speaker Jan Jiskra calling on the government not to accept any refugees, to outlaw Islam and the sharia law and to protect Czech borders more toughly.
Jiskra also called for the Czech Republic to leave the European Union.
He said he does not want to fear for his own life only because he is an atheist and recognises the equality between men and women.
“I don’t want even a small group of Islamists in our country,” Jiskra said.
Meeting at the central Wenceslas Square, the demonstrators set off for Prague Castle, the seat of president, shortly before 16:00.
In the meantime, over a hundred people met elsewhere in the Wenceslas Square to express solidarity with refugees and protest against the spreading of hatred.
Later in the afternoon, another anti-refugee demonstration is to be held in the Wenceslas Square.
