Prague, Sept 26 (CTK) – Three underage students were charged with bullying a Prague secondary school teacher, the public Czech Television (CT) said yesterday adding that the police ended the investigation in early September, but it did not provide any details citing the age of the charged persons.
The bullied teacher died last January, but the police ruled out foul play.
The boys face one year in prison for breach of the peace and restriction of personal freedom. The rate is twice as high for adults.
The three students probably bullied the 55-year-old woman for a longer time. Their fellow students recorded some incidents on mobile telephones.
Originally, the students were punished with conditional expulsion from school, but later two of them were expelled, according to daily Pravo. The third was put on probation.
The Czech School Inspection said the school management failed in dealing with the bullying and breached the school law. The head teacher was dismissed and replaced in June.
Later, the Prague City Hall filed a complaint against an unknown perpetrator who may have committed a crime by “neglecting duties in connection with bullying a teacher and not reporting the occurrence of such incidents in the school to the City Hall.”
