The ‘Argentine Diplomats Polo Cup – Prague’, is the first ever international polo tournament organized under the auspices of the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in the Czech Republic as well as the City of Prague, and will take place in the Czech capital from Thursday, 26th June, to Saturday, 28th June. The event is open to the general public, especially to families who can look forward to a rich programme and entertainment.
The three-day tournament celebrates the 90th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the former Czechoslovakia, now Czech Republic and Argentina. The event, hosted by the Aviator Polo Club in Prague, will take place in CONSEQ Park, Velká Chuchle and is open to public with special events taking place on Friday and Saturday. Polo fans, horse enthusiasts as well as active families are welcome to come and enjoy a day out and have a picnic at an exciting and unique sports event. A polo match can be just as engaging off the field as on and don’t forget to participate in the long-standing half-time tradition of “divot stomping” where spectators converge on the field to stomp down the turf that has been torn up by the pony’s hooves.
Six teams of four players with a team handicap of up to + 4 are registered to compete for this prestigious cup. Players are coming from Europe and worldwide and consist of enthusiastic amateurs and polo professionals. Exciting and high profile matches are therefore guaranteed.
On Thursday and Friday the matches will start from 2 pm and Saturday’s grand finals from 11:30 am. On Friday, after the matches, a concert by well-known Brazilian singer Santiago Ferreira will take place from 18:30 together with an „Asado“ (Argentine barbecue). Saturday’s grand finals will include an opening ceremony with the Mayor of Prague and the Head of Mission from the Argentine Embassy, cultural entertainment, „have-a-go-Polo“ practice area, children’s corner by Pink Crocodile, VIP tent, award ceremony and much more. Numerous stands selling food and drinks will also be available.

Attendance on Thursday is free and tickets for Friday’s entry to the polo matches and the concert, as well as for Saturday’s finals cost per day 200 CZK pre-purchase and are available under www.facebook.com/DiplomatsPoloCup as well as www.aviatorpoloclub.cz. It will also be possible to buy the tickets at the door on the day for 250 CZK. (Children under the age of 14 enter for free). A limited number of VIP tickets are available at a pre-purchase cost of 1,000 CZK (door price 1,250 CZK).
