Prague, Nov 8 (CTK) – The number of Czechs who would like Hillary Clinton to become next U.S. president (43 percent) is far higher than of those who wish Donald Trump to win the presidential election (13 percent), which takes place yesterday, according to the latest CVVM agency’s poll.
From September to October, support for Clinton increased by 4 percentage points, while the number of Trump’s supporters remained more or less unchanged.
Clinton is mostly supported by people in their 30s and early 40s, those with a good living standard, right-wing voters and followers of the Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL), TOP 09 and the Greens, the poll showed.
Trump is more often preferred by men and voters of the ANO movement of Andrej Babis and the Party of Direct Democracy (SPD) of the populist Tomio Okamura.
In October, 42 percent showed interest in the U.S. presidential election and 57 percent were not interested in it, while in September 37 percent showed interest.
The outgoing President Barack Obama is assessed positively by 57 percent of Czechs and negatively by 24 percent. Those who like Obama mostly want Clinton to become his successor in the presidential post.
